Aberlour 10 year old

Aged: bourbon, with a light sherry marriage

Colour: golden honey

Strength: 40%

Price bracket: around £25

Best for: a sherry initiation

Nose: garden fruits, blackberries, raspberries, and a dash of melon freshness

Taste: gentle fruitcake with a hint of cherries and cream

Verdict: this is the signature Aberlour and a true Speyside but the gentle sherry finish gives it an added and very pleasing dose of warmth and depth. Aftertaste is pretty smooth too. A solid all-rounder and a good way to dip your toes into the sherried waters without knocking your socks off.
