Bunnahabhain Toiteach

Aged: no age statement, matured in Spanish Manzanilla sherry casks

Colour: dark honey

Strength: 46%

Price: around £50

Best for: drinking by a huge bonfire on a winter beach. Cigars optional, dates recommended

Nose: full, enough peaty smoke, whiffs of hospital corridors, warm spice

Taste: sherry sweet, smoky with a good peppery citrus after-taste

Verdict: cracking sherried whisky with plenty of unusual character loaded inside
