Famous Grouse 30 year old

Aged: 30 years

Colour: deep amber

Strength: 40%

Best for: drinking from a decanter

Nose: cherries, sweet dark fruit, and Christmas pudding,

Taste: tropical fruit, not peppery or spicy taste just smooth, rum fruit cake

Verdict: a right tasty drop with plenty of depth and warmth, this has now been unfortunately been discontinued perhaps because of a simple clothing issue – a £120-plus whisky in a Grouse bottle was always going to be a tough ask
